Writing is my passion, but my love is France.

(L’écriture est ma passion, mais mon amour est la France.)

My story

Words and writing have been a lifeblood to me since I was a child. I grasp every occasion with both hands to express thoughts, feelings, and ideas onto paper. There is something quite magical about the craft of writing and putting pen to paper!

Notebooks containing memories, dreams, plans, and observations, fill my drawers. Varied prose is saved within many hard drives and float around my laptop. As a writer, I always have many projects in progress: books, short stories, blogs, and travel articles in various stages of life.

As a child, hours, weeks, and months were spent writing secret stories and poems that only my toys, or snooping brothers, would ever read.

Reading was always such a favourite pastime and rarely was I without a book in my hand. I loved the feel of the paper, the words swimming in front of my eyes. I absorbed them hungrily and translated the characters into creatures of my own creation. The world inside the book would come alive just for me. A moving feast of what my mind’s eye had created.

Bringing my books to life is an inexplicable joy and pleasure! It is my life’s calling.

France and all things French fill my dreams and my heart. I am an unashamed Francophile. My experience with that sublime country and its beautiful people has been nothing but exceptional – Très Magnifique. I see a French research trip on the horizon!

Dabbler in art & photography

I love dabbling in watercolours and acrylic painting, either with wine and friends or just with wine!

Travel photography is an obsession. I cannot travel, or move through life without capturing the moments and snippets of people, nature, and our wonderful world.

Writing, art, music, dance, travel – they are my joy in life (ils sont ma joie dans la vie). To be explored, treasured, and pursued with passion. So along with enjoying my beautiful family and friends, the fanciful and artful reign supreme!

Writing quenches my thirst as nothing else can…. Except for Paris, of course. xx

“Words”

“I love the glorious tapestry they weave.

The impression and feeling created by one word following another. They can be life-changing, challenging, or pure relief.

Powerful yet gentle. Intensely joyful or desperately sad. Vibrant, colourful, and richly toned.

They incite physical sensations: decadent taste upon the tongue, shivers on the skin, feelings of lust and desire, the perfume of life filling nostrils.

Words

They are art, emotion, and action. They are music and song.

They are movies in our minds, stories on paper, and inspiration for life.

They are terrifyingly scary, disturbingly macabre, a frightening and dark melange of rage and violence. But they are also sunshine, and light. Love in all its forms.

Individually they are intriguing, however; sublimely crafted and melded together, words create the amazing and unexpected.

Words

They are life. They are breath. We crave them, feel them, love them, hate them, fear them.

Words

They are a beautiful treasure, that can transport you through time, place, and memory.”
